Requirements to Review Before Applying
Thank you for your interest in our puppies! Please review the items below before applying
Do your homework!
1
Before submitting an application, you should have thoroughly researched the Doberman breed. This includes understanding the breed’s temperament, training and exercise requirements, attention needs, general costs of ownership, grooming needs, health concerns, size, and any potential breed‑restrictive insurance, HOA, or housing limitations. You should also read the AKC Doberman standard (see the designated section on this site).
If you are still in the research phase, please wait to submit an application until you are fully informed and prepared for the long‑term commitment this breed requires. This website provides a wealth of information, and you are always welcome to reach out to me with questions.
You can view our planned litters and their anticipated go‑home dates under the “Upcoming Litters” tab. Please be sure you are both logistically and financially prepared to welcome a puppy during that timeframe. If you do not expect to be ready for a particular litter, please wait to submit an application.
You are always welcome to reach out to me with questions or to begin building a relationship, even if you’re not ready to apply yet.

Timeframe
U.S. Residents Only: Applicants must reside within the United States. We do not export puppies.
Home Ownership: You must own your home, and home ownership will be verified.
Fenced Yard: Having a private, securely fenced yard is strongly preferred (a physical fence, not an invisible fence). Homes on acreage or rural properties without fencing may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Requirements
We crop and dock all of our puppies before they leave our home — no exceptions. You should be prepared to post the ears until approximately 8 months of age, and in some cases longer, to ensure they stand correctly and meet our preferred standard. Please watch the ear‑taping tutorial on this site before submitting an application.

Based on our evaluations, puppies will be designated as either PET COMPANION or SHOW PROSPECT.
PET COMPANION PUPPIES
Pet companion puppies are placed with AKC limited registration. They are purebred Dobermans registered with the AKC and may participate in any sport or performance event except conformation showing, which is reserved for evaluating breeding stock. The AKC will not register or recognize any offspring from a dog on limited registration.
These puppies may not be bred or shown in conformation.
For health reasons, pet/companion puppies may be spayed or neutered no earlier than 2 years of age, with no exceptions. Accidental or unauthorized breeding will result in serious consequences, including possible breeder repossession of the dog.
SHOW PROSPECT PUPPIES
Show prospect puppies are placed on AKC full registration and will be co‑owned with the breeder. They are placed under contract to complete an AKC Championship, and breeding may be permitted only with breeder approval, provided both the dog and the prospective mate meet the criteria outlined in the mutually agreed‑upon contract.
Show prospects must remain intact indefinitely. Accidental or unauthorized breeding will result in serious consequences, including possible breeder repossession of the dog.

Pet & Show Puppies
Puppy owners must be able to correspond promptly by email and phone for updates throughout the process. After bringing your puppy home, you are expected to maintain regular communication with us, including sending photos at least once a year for the lifetime of the dog.

Communication
We match puppies to approved owners on our waiting list based on the best overall fit; placements are not first‑come, first‑served. Each puppy is evaluated daily in our home for temperament, behavior, and overall development. They are also assessed for structural soundness and designated as either a companion puppy or a show prospect.
This process allows us to place each puppy in the home that best suits their attributes, temperament, and your stated lifestyle and goals. Please understand that thoughtful evaluation takes time. While we will discuss which puppies may be the best match for you, we do not allow prospective owners to choose puppies based on photos or any method other than our informed, experience‑based recommendation.
